We have received such lovely feedback from our guests over the years, here are some of our favourites.
From the moment you leave the busy road and drive through the single-track roads, it becomes clear that tranquillity abounds.
Kate met us at their property. By the way, the pictures do not do the accommodation justice. It's in a stunning quiet location with everything you need and more to make your stay enjoyable.
The hens are so cute too. Following us into and out of the gorgeous farm house kitchen. Simply fabulous stay and looking forward to our next stay.
Our Family of four stayed for a week at this gorgeous barn and loved every minute.
Tons of space, a large yard for the kids to play, great kitchen and all clean and beautifully decorated. Lovely location – tons of walking paths and close access to the beach. The best part was the gracious and caring hosts who thoughtfully covered all bases.
John and Sue were very welcoming from the moment we got there.
They gave us an in depth tour of the home and explained how everything worked. Their home and surrounding area is beautiful, their chickens are also great and very friendly. It's close enough to town that you can walk to get supplies or drive but it's also far enough away that there is no noise pollution and at night it's pretty much pitch black so for star gazing it's beautiful.
We have stayed at a fair few places but this is by far our favourite one we've stayed at and we hope to stay here again in the future.
Thank you so much John and Sue for such a lovely stay!
We loved our time at Cobb Barn, really helped us to chill out and relax. Nice and quiet and secluded, tastefully decorated and rustic, with lovely touches to make our stay as comfortable as possible (fresh eggs made scrummy scrambled egg!). A really special place and hope others enjoy it just as much we did!
Coast within very easy walking distance to some of the most idyllic coastal walks we’ve done. We also did a stunning one, quite tucked away and was only a short drive - park in Gorran Haven and walk to Portmellon and circle route around Gorran and back. Recommended!
And even more so, recommend this hidden gem, Cobb Barn, what a find! And thank you again for a lovely stay John and Sue!
The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to create all the yummy dishes you could ever desire.
If you're a foodie, this place is perfect for you! The cooker is really good and all the dishes, pots and pans are of good quality. We recommend buying up some of the excellent local produce on offer and cooking up a storm.
We really liked the cosy feel that John and Sue have created, simply by making it feel lived in. For example, the cupboards contain random books, board games and a whole host of kitchen utensils you wouldn't normally expect to find in holiday accommodation.
The barn, whilst feeling slightly remote and thusly serving up a fat slice of peace and quiet, is actually perfectly placed to act as a base for all of your daring Cornwall adventures. Watch out though, there be pirates! So take some sandwiches and a flagon of lemon squash, or something.
We thought this the best price/quality property we have experienced in 35 years of UK and Europe 'regional character' rentals.
The balance of Design and Functionality is award-worthy. The building restoration itself is to/above Landmark Trust standards (especially the internal woodwork), to which have been added modern amenities: well-designed kitchen that goes beyond the call of commerce in the provision of quality implements - warm bathroom with quality fittings - guest Apple computer in kitchen for info, TV and music - the signature AV system (with foolproof instructions for novices).
Having seen the slide show on the effort and love applied to re-raising the Cob Barn out of the ground, we raise our hats to John and Sue, and the unknown craftsmen.
John and Sue were lovely hosts and their barn is wonderful!
The 10ft cinema screen was incredible and it was hard to even leave the room! The kitchen is beautiful and extremely well equipped for any sort of cooking. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom lovely too. The location is a great peaceful base for exploring Cornwall and supermarkets are easily reachable in 5 mins. Also was a nice touch that we were able to try some vegetables from the garden! Can't fault this place. Highly recommended!
